Printmaking is currently the vehicle for my drawings & designs. The styles of printing that I primarily work in are reductive color relief block prints & copper plate etchings. When working with less complicated imagery color can be its own design element. In contrast the delicacies of line & texture created through etching aides in translating an image with more narrative qualities.
I rely heavily upon symbolism to quickly convey intent when referenceing science, history, mythology, & literature. Working both technically & intuitivally & through the process ideas & designs will either simplify or elaborate. I really love the result achieved in the sacrifical offfering of an idea to a process.
